This Privacy Policy explains how Jhonatan Carrillo Mejía, owner of jhonydev.pro, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit this website or contact me. It follows Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013 on personal data protection, and the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors from the European Union.

1. Data controller

Jhonatan Carrillo Mejía, freelance full-stack developer based in Barranquilla, Colombia. Contact: contact@jhonydev.pro.

2. Data I collect

• Contact form: first and last name, email address, subject and message, which you provide voluntarily.
• Live chat: the messages you write and the details you choose to share, processed by Tawk.to.
• Direct contact: the information you send me by email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or GitHub.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device and pages visited, processed by the hosting provider for security and performance.
• Preferences: the dark or light mode you choose, stored in a cookie on your device.

3. How I use your data

• To answer your messages and prepare quotes or proposals.
• To manage the projects and collaborations we agree on.
• To keep the website secure, fast and working properly.
• To remember your display preferences.

I do not sell your personal data, and I do not use it for advertising or automated profiling.

4. Legal basis

I process your data with the consent you give when you send a message through the form or the chat, and when it is necessary to take steps before or during a contract you request. Technical data is processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.

5. Cookies

• theme-mode: remembers the dark or light mode you selected, for one year.
• Tawk.to cookies: keep your chat session open and recognize returning chat visitors.
• Technical cookies from the hosting and cache system, required for the site to work.

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, although some features, such as the chat or saved preferences, may stop working.

6. Third-party services

• Hostinger: website hosting and content delivery network.
• Tawk.to: live chat service. Messages are stored on its servers under its own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: typography loaded from Google servers, which receive your IP address.
• Email delivery: contact form messages are delivered through an SMTP email service.

Some of these providers may process data outside Colombia. In those cases I rely on providers that offer adequate data protection safeguards.

7. Data retention

Contact messages are kept for as long as necessary to answer them and manage any resulting project, and for a maximum of three years afterwards, unless the law requires otherwise. Technical logs are kept for the short periods defined by the hosting provider.

8. Your rights

Under Colombian law and the GDPR you can, at any time:

• Know, access and update your personal data.
• Ask for your data to be corrected or deleted.
• Revoke the consent you gave.
• Request proof of the authorization you granted.
• File a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia or with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@jhonydev.pro. Queries are answered within 10 business days and claims within 15 business days, as set by Law 1581 of 2012.

9. Security

I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, such as encrypted HTTPS connections and restricted access to the website administration. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. Minors

This website is not directed at people under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy to reflect changes in the website or the law. The current version is always published on this page with its update date.
